Life Importance - Jim Baker

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the Mayonnaise Jar and the 2 Beers.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
He then asked the students if the jar was full.

They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.
He then asked the students again if the jar was full.

They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full.

The students responded with a unanimous 'Yes.'

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand.

The students laughed.

Now, said the professor as the laughter subsided, I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things---your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favourite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.

The sand is everything else---the small stuff.

If you put the sand into the jar first, there would be no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.

The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

* Spend time with your children.

* Spend time with your parents.

* Visit with grandparents.

* Take time to get medical check-ups.

* Take your spouse out to dinner.

* Play another 18.

Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer represented.

The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked.'

The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of Beers with a friend.

Just wanted to send a holiday "Hello" out to everyone. Hope your enjoying this season.

We celebrate Hanukkah instead of Christmas. But for those out there doing any kind of celebration, may you be blessed!

The new year is about here and I hope we all can gain a step forward in business and blessings as 2012 could be a challenge. There is so much change taking place within the USA and around the world that it can bring a lot of stress and worry among the nations. If we have our face before the Prince of Peace, then we will get through the struggles that plague those with anxiety.

Keep your heads up friends and may your 2012 be with progression and success.

Well, just when I think I've experienced everything, another lesson learned. Went on an interior paint quote just before Thanksgiving in Castle Rock CO. New potential buyers signed contract, and faxed over paint colors to sample, for me to have mixed up before they closed, so on day of closing we could come in and test them, to proceed the very next day.
Well, they did not close, saying that these 4 gallons are not theirs, not authorizing me to have mixed them up being a Bald Face Lie. Not in the business to buy gallons of paint for nothing, I have told potential (glad they are not my interior painting customer) taking to small claims court.

Over a measly $124.45, just think how hard it would be getting over $5000.00 from them

Another lesson learned, will not start doing anything for anyone until they actually close on the home, as I suppose their signature of my contract means nothing?

Several things are now in place limiting unwanted spammers, which will undoubtedly improve the quality score of the contents within. Not having any ideas of the wide choices of plugins available, helping clean up, and approve only those we feel would be an asset to this forum, Jason has some very good knowledge, as well as Paul implementing and rolling out these new improvements for all.
Having a real pleasure working for Shirley this past Summer, feeling much empathy on our first meeting, just experiencing Painter Drama, we submitted her painting proposal, understanding what she just went through, hiring a painter weeks before.

Thankfully this painter did not even start, potentially messing anything up, not making it more difficult for our painting crew to start, and complete. Shirley's home located in Parker CO. which has vinyl siding, trim, and soffits. Facia, gutters, downs, doors, shutters, and ceilings of porches required paint.
Raising the bar for paint quality and experience is what we are striving for in Denver and Colorado, helping limit this Painter Drama showing up on Yelp. I used Animoto to create the video, but had to use Picasa3 to edit for the short vid clips. Animoto only alows 10sec clips. I was able to combine stills with video.

------------------------------------------------------
What’s red and smells like blue paint?
Red paint.
------------------------------------------------------
At Paint Store:
On a diet?
Go to the paint store. You can get thinner there.
------------------------------------------------------
The Road Painter
A man was given the job of painting the white lines down the middle of a highway. On his first day he painted six miles; the next day three miles; the following day less than a mile. When the foreman asked the man why he kept painting less each day?
He replied "I just can't do any better. Each day I keep getting farther away from the paint can".

Knowing exterior paint preserves wood siding, wanted to write about this, putting some concrete numbers into a table, showing the impact not painting one's exterior would have on one's pocketbook over say 45 years. My conclusion is one that it would save thousands, and the smartest thing to do, even in the toughest times.
Welcoming any blog comments you choose.

Knowing this all along, exterior paint saves tons of money, still seeing countless homes everywhere not getting painted on the outside. Knowing we may be in tough economic times, gives even more reason to invest into one's home, preserving what one currently owns. Writing about this in depth, putting hard numbers in a table, showing the larger the home, more drastic savings magnified. Yes, in business to paint exteriors and interiors as well, I'm all about providing valuable information those needing, whether we actually paint the home or not. Targeting only Denver and Colorado homes, this information is universal for all parts of the country. Helping our communities saving thousands, painting exteriors makes perfect sense. Potentially saving over 400% if external siding is kept in pristine condition, with a fresh new paint coating.
